Thailand's borders have partly closed due to the Omicron, and domestic restrictions are continuously being lifted.

Can I travel to Thailand?

All arrivals must fill in a Certificate of Entry before arrival.

All arrivals must apply for a visa before arrival.

  • Arrivals who already got their pass approved before December 21th, can enter without quarantine.
  • At the moment, only Phuket, Karbi, Phang-Nga, and Surat Thai Sandbox are available for application.

Do I need to go into quarantine when arriving to Thailand?

  • All arrivals to Thailand will be required to enter 10 days quarantine in a government facility.
  • Vaccinated arrivals will be required to enter 7 days quarantine.
  • Arrivals may apply to stay at an Alternative Quarantine Facility.
  • Arrivals through the Phuket Sandbox must quarantine until getting the test results.

Are COVID-19 tests required to travel to Thailand?

  • Anyone arriving to Thailand will be required to present a negative RT-PCR test, no more than 72 hours old.
  • Arrivals to approved areas will be tested again upon arrival and must be self-quarantined for 1 night or until getting the results.
  • Anyone arriving to Thailand, other than diplomats, will be required to have medical insurance covering COVID-19 treatment.

Is public transportation open in Thailand?

  • Public transportation in Thailand is operating.
  • High-risk areas are under lockdown, and travel to and from these areas is banned, unless for necessary reasons.

Are the restaurants and bars open in Thailand?

Restaurants in Thailand are open under social distancing and hygiene restrictions.

In high-risk areas, restaurants are open for takeout only.

Are businesses and attractions open in Thailand?

  • Non-essential businesses and attractions in Thailand are open, under social distancing and capacity limitations.
  • In high-risk areas, non-essential businesses and attractions are closed.

Do I need to wear a face mask in Thailand?

Wearing face masks is required in public places.
