Portugal is closed for non-essential travel from most countries, and internal restrictions are changing with changes in infection rates.

Can I travel to Portugal?

  • Portugal is open for air travel from the following countries only:

    • Australia 🇦🇺
    • China 🇨🇳
    • New Zealand 🇳🇿
    • Singapore 🇸🇬
    • South Korea 🇰🇷
    • Thailand 🇹🇭
  • Arrivals from high-risk EU countries and other third countries may only enter for essential reasons.
  • All arrivals must complete a passenger locator form in advance.
  • The border with Spain is open again.

Do I need to go into quarantine when arriving to Portugal?

  • Arrivals from high-risk countries will be required to quarantine for 14 days in an approved location.
  • Anyone arriving to the Madeira will be required to present a negative PCR test from the 72 hours prior to arrival, or take a test on arrival and await the results within 12 hours at the accommodation
  • Anyone arriving to Azores Archipelago be required to present a negative RT-PCR test from the 72 hours prior to arrival, take a test on arrival and await the results within 48 hours in voluntary quarantine

  • Anyone arriving to mainland Portugal will undergo a health screening

    • Will be required to fill in a health declaration, 72 hours before arrival.
